Zoe Ministries is working in collaboration with Courageous Hearts to offer counseling services. We assist clients in learning new and healthy coping skills, reducing anxiety and depression, increasing self-esteem, learning about healthy relationships, and addressing trauma. Our clients include female adults and minors who are survivors of trafficking, as well as those who are suspected victims, and those with trauma histories who have increased vulnerability to becoming trafficked.
There are several methods we use in counseling. One of the methods is called EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association). This model incorporates a clinical therapist, an equine specialist, a client and a horse (or several horses). This approach employs ground work rather than riding the horse. EAGALA is great for PTSD, grounding work, learning about relationships, respect, self-care, and healthy boundaries. This approach is experiential and also uses the empirically proven approach of cognitive behavioral therapy.
If the client prefers to not work with horses, traditional talk therapy in the office is an option as well.
